Connection Problems

Hi,
I need some help desperately I have an old GRBL system that I am looking to replace, and I already have a BBG and BBB board as I am into electronics. I want to run the ACORN software and see if I like it, as there is no demo mode, my plan is to make the BBG connect to my original break out board hardware. But I have tried 2 computers 4 network cards 6 cables, and tried with a switch and I always get an error in the communications and the software then closes. The BBG has a heartbeat led flash, but I am suspecting it could be because it is not connected to the ACORN breakout board, and it needs to see this to continue. I cant find a circuit diagram of the ACORN breakout board so no clues there. If someone knows the answer or could possibly do me a big favour and do a test for me by unplugging your BBG board from the breakout board power it up by the micro USB and see if you can connect with the ethernet to see if the software will open and stay running and not close down. This will help me to know what is happening. I would just buy the kit but I don’t have money as I have lost my job recently and money is tight.
Thank you
Darren.
