ACORN + SLO-SYN 2000 D6 DRIVE--video

Post by pulsenpal »

the Centroid team was correct--the 24 vdc jumper was required to connect to header H4 for
proper step/direction logic output

but--the slo-syn drive 2000 d6 requires +5vdc to opto-isolator for enable function--so
a separate 5 vdc power supply is required for this function--this problem solved by arrival of meanwell
dual power supply 5/24 vdc

this system installs into romi lathe--with heidenhain rotary encoders on step motors
these will be connected to anilam dro --

in addition-handwheels with heidenhain encoders acting as pulse generators will be incorporated into
control options--I use reed relays to isolate multiple signal inputs when this level of complexity is required

it allows manual control of machine even if computer and acorn board are off--
cannot execute threading with this setup--but many manual functions are possible with complete bypass of
computer and acorn board

pics and video of this setup to follow

todays video is bench test with new power supply v2=+24vdc v1=+5vdc brown jumper connected to
opto-isolator on 2000 d6 drive ==+5vdc
