Poor description, probably!
Had to take some time off from working on my machine. Did a little rewire to see if I could fix the Z axis fault problem, loaded a file larger than 50K to test, it does not run... Apparently my software has reverted back to the free version. I tried two previous codes sent to me "**.dat" files and neither works...!
I suppose I need yet another code file. Any ideas why licenses spontaneously stop working, and why the license activation does not seem to work twice?
Thanks, R

Re: Upgrade Software License Stops Working
after upgrade, simply reinstall the license file like you did the first time using the Utility menu.
OR
simply copy the license.dat file from the old cncm directory and paste into the new cncm directory and restart cnc12.
(License files are matched the hardware not the software)

Re: Upgrade Software License Stops Working <answered>
It does not work (again).
The first license sent never worked. The second sent worked after updating the software. I was busy debugging and did not install it before. Somehow, what was once working no longer works! My software reverted back to FREE.
See the photo posted? It says ERROR...the serial numbers don't match. The file no longer works. I have tried. I ask it to install, it gives me the error message shown on the screen.
This is not solved.

Re: Upgrade Software License Stops Working
if you have two license files, one that worked and one that doesn't... sounds like you got them mixed up after the update? could it be?
I can resend you a license file, what license do you have Mill Pro i assume? you didn't mention what you have.
if you had a working Mill Pro installation before the update.....did you try this..
simply copy the license.dat file from the old cncm directory and paste into the new cncm directory and restart cnc12.
(as the license.dat file in the old cncm directory is the exact file that makes CNC12 the Pro version and if you copy that file into the new cncm directory it will put the new install into Pro mode.)

Re: Upgrade Software License Stops Working
I just got another file from one of the tech guys. It also does not load and says ERROR. Just tried it today. Highly disappointing.
I have not mixed them up, I have them in dated folders, in Dropbox. I can also pull them from original emails. Nancy (I hope I got her name right, going from memory) sent me one early in the week that I have not tried. She sent me one prior to the tech, who also sent me one independently. Kudos to them, they have been pretty responsive to me.
I am going to uninstall the software and load it again. I am grasping at straws, but I have got to try the software side before blaming it on hardware.
I did not attempt to load my license before the update. I try to work out bugs as they come and not pile on new variables. It 'installed' or at least I believe it did, and then I was perplexed last week when wanting to run a file (larger than 50K) and saw that my software said I was back on the Free Software. It is strange but when I open the wizard, my base setup has moved from the base Clearpath setting to the Bench Test. I have to wonder what the memory volatility or stability of the hardware memory is. i am guessing. I have no idea how these items relate, if at all.
I will see what a clean install of the software does for me. The adding of a PLC solved my servo enable problem. I think I have licked the VSD faulting the Z servo but I would prefer some robust testing before I call that one good.
I was hoping to do some testing and get my MPG working but I can't do that until this license installs. Not actually knowing how these software items relate to hardware, at what point do I call this a hardware problem?
Seeing that you are building this off of one of my reports, how can it 'not work?'
Thanks, Ray
