Two questions, happy to start my own thread however one question is related.

Changed that parameter to 8, was still posting the same G Code. This was on my machine running 5.22.

Then later on my other lathe, running 5.30, I did some conversational and the one turn operation intrepreted the Feed / Min as Feed / R and basically killed the carbide tip. I double checked it again, it was 100% Feed / min. I then lowered the value slightly, clicked it to Feed / R (as it was on Feed / Min) and back again, then it worked fine. How odd ...

Are there any logs of these older files or are they overwritten? I dont have a copy to share otherwise, would have been nice if someone could take a look and understand why.

To be honest, I have no head to take care of old software in my spare time.

What I am posting will work on current software, 5.30 right now and if 5.40 is public for 5.40

My machines are anytime on the current software or betas for upcoming versions, so I cannot test out maybe old problems, before the last public version of CNC12.

You may be able to find an old version of the intercon or whatever file you are looking for in the backup directory of your 5.22 installation.

Thanks. To be clear, this is not a machine upgraded from 5.22, that was a different machine / example related to this thread.

When I save myprogram.nc or whatever format is used, are there older versions of it. It's been overwritten since. I did take a quick look at the actual code but couldnt easily spot why it basically did what it did despite asking for feed / min. No issue if not, want to work out of it was operator error (more likely) or a bug.

Thanks, not asking for any testing. Just curious. I do need to update this machine but it has a fair bit of customisation, so not ideal.

yeah, i know it can be 30 to 60 minutes of work to install a new version of CNC12 on a machine/install that has been customized to get all the files transferred on an Acorn but that is what you have to do to get the latest version of CNC12. we've been working on v5.4 for 6 months now and i hope to go out with a public beta soon. i can TV into your machine and give you a bit of training on how best to install the new version of software. where is most of your customization? in the VCP? or?

It's not that bad, just a time sink, got 2 other machine im working at at the moment too.

There's some custom VCP stuff, macros for ATC, custom homing. The last 2 are fairly easy, the first (VCP) is something I've not migrated before. The machine also has Eth1616 board, so a bit more config.

Ill wait for 5.4 and upgrade. Ill take a look to see if there was anything odd in 5.22. I really struggled with getting an Intercon drilling cycle to work, the machine has a very small working envelope and I kept hitting my Z limit, despite soft limits being enabled (and no warning pre running). I also saw something really odd with parting where the parting op (Intercon) where it parts in the wrong direction however not looked at it again. It could be the tool direction setting but ill relook at it when I start using the machine more.
