Spindle issue solved in 12.5.10.

Now let's revise this to ... there may be a bug in 12.5.10

My drives are connected to the terminal block outputs, not the DB25 (see photo)

But yet, if I set the DB25 connector setting to "terminal block" i get NO drive.
I set it to "DB25 port" and my drives start ...

I can answer my own question.

12.5.10 does fix the issue.

I have the same problem.
All was fine, until an update earlier this year and now, if I abort a program..no more spindle control.

so does 12.5.10 have this fix ?

I have been unable to configure working stepper control in 12.5.10, wasting a considerably amount of time.

So why has the development team chosen to delete configuration information when performing an upgrade.
Surely previous config info should be carried over.
If the changes are so ...

This issue appeared a few updates back, but lack of time meant i only got into the issue today.

Depending on age/spec, i think the suggestion on another thread was to upgrade the encoders.

Question then

Would using a linear scale to give positional info to the OAK be better than a rotary encoder ?

I don't fully understand when you say "two separate encoders per axis".
If possible can you explain a bit more.

Do you have the encoders feeding the..

a) the SimoDrive
or
b) Into the OAK controller

What sort of backlash should I see on the X & Y axis ?

I'm seeing about 0.02mm on a A -> B -> A move
and it's bang on if I do a A -> B -> C (back past B) -> A
