Hello,
1st post on here. I purchased a machine from overseas a couple of years ago for some pool cue building. 100% of my experience has been through experimentation on this machine over the past couple of years. Recently, the machine has been erratic or not working at all. For example, I’ll run a program to cut the points and it will decide to home itself and run through the part. I’m convinced this is due to Mach 3 and the USB WixHC board. Even if it is not, I think it is a good idea to upgrade if possible. That’s my main question, is the acorn compatible (a good fit) with my machine? Included are pic of my machine.
Thanks

From what I can see there, it should be a good fit, with possibly few modifications. Find a manual for the drives and VFD. Check out the schematics that match or closely match with your drives. Looks to be a typical Leadshine drive.

Yes, the Acorn will be the best solution for that system. One of the first machines I bought had the same USB controller and I swapped it for Acorn and never looked back. Machine ran rock solid with no issues. USB controllers like that are a thing of the past. Your Leadshine MA860C drives will work great with the Acorn wired to the DB25 connector designed for stepper drives like yours. The Fuling VFD is a great VFD and also very reliable. The swap to Acorn will be very easy and there are wiring diagrams for Leadshine drives on the schematic page.

I have the software downloaded and PC configured. And I'm stuck. I couldn't find a wiring schematic for this old motion card. I was hoping that the labeling on the wires would just magically line up exactly with what is on the Acorn so that I could just unplug from the old one and plug into the new. How do I figure out what goes where?
