Hi all, I'm just wondering if a .22uF 100 ohm, 400 volt snubber would work.

Thanks,

I dont see any support for 3rd party products or implementation of them on the Centroid forum.

I would use the snubbers that Centroid recommends.

However, If I had the snubbers you mention in your link I would use them.

Also check if the manufacturer of the contactor (if this is for a contactor) makes their own "snubbers". I have dozens of Siemens contactors pulled from an industrial CNC router and they all have a Siemens RC snubber attached to them.

Thanks for the replies. I see that the ideal value can be calculated based upon the use, so I assume that the recommended one is a good compromise. I just don't know how much a little variation matters without taking the time to research more. I learned years ago to put a MOV across relay coils, and that's the extent of my arc suppression knowledge. I'm not having any trouble with nothing on the coils at all, so I guess anything would be better than nothing.
