Re- Howa NC7 Lathe, Centroid Retrofit, Serial #A900365
I will need to fit 9 pin plugs to the wires coming from my axis pulse coders. The X & Z axis Pulse coders are Fanuc type 0300 - T001. We also have spares off a machine we wrecked, a younger machine, that are Type A860-0 300 - T001.
The Z coder has a junction box where the wires are connected, marked from the top down S4, S3, S2, S1, then R2, R1, then the over temp switch on, OTL2 and OTL1, then G3, G2, G1. This is wired to a Honda plug, which was connected to the old Fanuc T5 controller. The R1 & R2 have 3 pin connections each on the Honda plug, the others 1, except R2, which is not connected.
The X coder has a Canon plug outlet, going to a Honda plug which was connected to the old Fanuc T5 controller. The Canon plug is a 17 pin, marked A to H, J to N, P, R, S, T. Of these, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, & H are connected to the Honda plug. Also R & S which are the over temp switch.
This gives us an uneven number of wires, even more so, with R1 & R2 having 3 wires each on the Z motor coder.
Any suggestions as how to move forward from here, with the identification of the wires will be appreciated.
Also doing my bench testing of the MPU 11, GP104D and computer, I can't get the outputs 17 to 20 on, even though I seem to have the correct jumpers in place. There are messages saying door open and emergency stop detected. I have my input lights on for where I have put the jumpers, but my outputs are 6, 11, and 18. When I press F3, I get screen flashing, and no change to the output lights.
All help will be much appreciated and I will publish my finished details on here, with as much help for others as I can, once we have it going.
Cheers, Colin
