Axis Configuration Change-DRO Agrees, Control Panel Does Not

I have decided that it makes more sense to swap my X and Y axes. I have done so in the Wizard and the DRO reflects this change but the control panel has not changed - it still behaves as if the Y-Axis is as it was. Is there a way to make the control panel agree with the DRO axes? Currently after swapping axis 1 and 2, the DRO agrees with the change but the control panel still requires me to jog with the "Y" axis instead of "X". Also, is there a way to change the order of the DRO? After the change, the screen shows from top down: Y, X, Z. I'd like it to read: X, Y, Z.
Thank you!

Make the change either at the drive signal or motor output connections, not in software

Looks like the VCP jog buttons X, Y and Z are hard coded to Axis 1, 2 and 3.
The valid question remains: Why does the Wizard let the user change Axis letters when the VCP has them fix assigned and hard coded? Does not seem to make sense.
So either make the Axis letter assignment in the Wizard fix as well by assigning X to Axis 1, Y to Axis 2 and Z to Axis 3 or the better option, sync the Axis assignment from the Wizard with the VCP jog buttons.
Looks like a bug to me or do I miss something here?

I studied the manual and found that I can swap the X and Y jog controls by changing bit 2 of parameter 1. I would basically enter a 4 into parameter 1.
I think I will just rewire my direction and pulse. I didn't want to at first because I will have to cut new wires since they won't reach for the swap.

Wizard allows it because CNC12 can run with different axis labels on axis 1,2,3,4 other than X,Y,Z,W etc..... the current VCP Jog buttons LABELS are hard coded for typical mill, router and lathe use. If you have no good reason to swap X and Y other than to save a few minutes of wiring, don't do it. Acorn Mill Axis 1 should be X, Axis 2 = Y, Axis 3= Z.. and Lathe Axis 1 = Z and Axis 2 =X.... wire that way (following all the schematics we provide for your convenience).
the new VCP 2.0 we are working on will let the user change the jog buttons to any label they want.. but be aware that there are lots of areas in CNC12 that count on Acorn Mill Axis 1 = X, Axis 2 = Y, Axis 3= Z.. and Lathe Axis 1 = Z and Axis 2 =X.... etc.. so swapping around Axis labels should be considered only for power users that have a special application that requires this and under stand the ramifications of doing so.
maybe we should remove the ability to change axis 1,2,3 in mill and axis 1,2 in lathe. as you can do it inside of CNC12 if you are a power user.

I agree that removing the option to change the Axis labels 1,2,3 for mills and 1,2 for lathe in the Wizard is a good idea.
They are standardized globally like the pedals on a car and nobody ever thinks about changing the order of these pedals (even though most Americans don't know that there can be a 3rd pedal called Clutch

)

Or a 4th that was a dimmer switch, maybe even a 5th for the starter. We have it so easy these days

Proper manual cars also have a dead pedal.
