Hybrid Step-Servo input

Post by ARTMEK »

Hi, I want to use the screw terminals for my closed loop steppers and make sure I don't let out any smoke first thing.

So I'm guessing:
COM to PUL-/DIR-
and
STEP/DIR to PUL+/DIR+ with 2k resistors in serie?

Like Gary said, provide a link to your drive manual.
Initially, without seeing the manual I would say no to the way you are proposing to do it.
WHY do you want to use the header instead of the DB25 with a breakout board. It was designed for the type of drive you want to use.
More information provided by you will get you some more help.

I took a quick peek at the specs online. Those are inexpensive Chinese clones of LeadShine products. You need to connect to the DB25 header, NOT the screw terminals.

Thanks for replying so fast!

So here is the full PDF:

The first picture I posted propose 5V, 12V or 24V signal if using resistor. Still don't understand why i must use the DB25.

Because the proper logic signals for your drive are on the DB25.

If you want to try the Acorn header terminals, take +5VDC from the Acorn power supply and take it to
+Puls
+Dir

Take -Puls to Acorn Header Terminal ST
Take -Dir to Acorn Header Terminal DR

Try that for starters
