Random motion control

A couple of days ago I noticed some variations in my lettering tool paths (is incomplete letter and the graphing trail moving off its intended course). I shut down and restarted both the mpu and mill software reloading the file again...same result. I then went back into aspire and redid the file...same result. Then I started loading some of the sample files and they were even worse...kinda like etcha sketchy paths where there were multiple parallel lines.

As far as my drives go I have 4 Lichuan closed loop steppers with 2 paired to the y axis. I use ballscrews 1605's on the x and y and a 1204 on the z. My wiring is pretty basic as the only things I have added to the board are homing switches and the 4 drives. All of my motor are shielded and the drains grounded to the earth ground on a sub panel with its own grounding rod. Both the encoder and vfd are double shielded with drains to ground. I don't know what happened everything was great last week and now.....

When I manually enter on the MDI it does what you tell it to do, but the very second you try to run a part all bets are off. If you need me to I can take some screen shots.

Thanks,
Johnny

Johnny...
If the tool is veering off the desired path is it losing position or does it come back to the desired path? And, am I correct in hearing that this shows up in the graphing? It would be difficult to believe that if it shows up on the graphing screen that it is anywhere but in the code produced by Aspire

Actually it runs perfect in aspire, but in centroid it has a totally different idea. As an example I created a very simple part which require drilling a series of equally spaced holes and a profile tool path to cut 1 inch squares around each hole. In aspire it ran perfect, in centroid it drilled the holes perfectly, but the profile did a little diagonal zig zag in the bottom left corner of every other square. I have also tried several of the post processors in aspire with poor results.

When I go out to the garage I will post some images.
