Hurco KM3

I recently bought a Hurco KM3 which has a problem with the original Ultimax 32 control.

I am looking to retrofit this machine to a PC based control while using all of the original parts as possible.

I have seen where LynuxCNC is capable of hooking to the servomate board that is already in the machine. What i am curious about is if any of the Centroid boards would be able to do the same? If not then can someone please point me in the direction of everything i would need to do this retrofit?

How about you post a few pics of the controller and list the components?

Our Oak Board is designed to interface with 3rd party drives using either a Velocity (-10 to +10v) or Position mode control. That being said depending on what you have there might be better options.

In my humble opinion LynuxCNC Would be fun if Your hobby is retrofitting a milling machine. If you're more interested in making parts reliably I would definitely go with the all-in-one DC board and install new encoders. You can keep your transformers he stop buttons and motor wiring. That way you will have a reliable known working machine. Go out turn it on and it will work every time.

This is a Bridgeport boss that I retrofitted several years ago. It took longer to get all of the oil out of the cabinet then to finish the retrofit.
