my shop is a Lear jet hanger--26 ft ceiling no insulation no heat--burned out wood stove pipes

shop temp today 40 F I run machines down to 20 F use Brayco for way lube at low temps

Romi EZ Path II running on Acorn cnc 12 and manual toggle option

if you use Acorn--separate DRO system is needed linked with linear or rotary encoders
so--an Anilam dro is fed by rotary encoders plugged into outboard end of step motors

to verify no missed steps the dro must reurrn to indicated zero as displayed by Acorn

I am a happy camper with Acorn ---an operator must trust--but verify

malposition events will hardly ever be an Acorn fault
example--the Romi lathe is 20x40 inch envelope cold iron squeezes gibs and ways--lots of stiction

I must back off feed rates by 80+ percent in cold as machine warms feed is boosted but never past 50%
using Centroid pawn program---too much cold mass for x stepper
z axis really never misses steps

pics and video clip
notice pawn runtime 6x longer than video put up by Centroid
no numbers were tweaked---absolute return to home--even in the icebox :)
