Omron clone encoder on Sieg mini lathe

Following in Franco’s footsteps, I made a gear and mount for my mini lathe. The gear is module 1 with 45 teeth. FYI, I am fairly sure there’s a 45T gear that comes with the lathe for manual threading. A simple hub could be made up to adapt the gear to the encoder’s 6mm shaft. Even a cheap Chinese molded plastic gear will probably run better than my 3D printed gear. I need to cut down the mounting bolts or order some shorter ones. The encoder works and it’s currently wired into my mill’s Acorn (haven’t started on the lathe Acorn retrofit yet). Test run to come soon.

I googled and the cost on a genuine Omron E6B2-CWZ1X is in >$300 price range. I suppose it's no surprise why the Chinese are selling them.
