Encoder feedback

Hello everyone,

We're trying to get our 6 axis system fully running, at the moment we have the 3 main ones running and we'll have the other 3 by EOD.
One main "issue" we encountered is the encoder feedback from the DYN4 drives to the Acorn6 board, specifically ENCODER1, ENCODER2, ENCODER3.
Are these supposed to be connected for feedback to CNC12?

Or are we misunderstanding the use of these ports, this question came up when we look at the Acorn6 brochure pictures, and it only shows glass scales and/or external rotary encoders like the ones used in MPG's, the wiring diagrams for the DYN4 only shows the ZRI homing line being used.

AcornSIX was intended to run without motor encoders feeding back to it.
ENCEXP12 encoder expansion board was intended to allow linear scales to be used with the system.

You could get AcornSIX and ENCEXP12 to run with motor encoder feedback. However, one of the control systems that is intended to run that way (Oak, HICKORY) is usually a better choice if that is the plan.

I am using AcornSix der with linear scales on XYZ and servo encoder on A and C.

No problem using the servo encoder for closed loop....
