Spindle 24000 RPM with 2 Pulses per Revolution <Resolved>

Hello All Forum Members.
I am running into an issue with a 24000 RPM spindle
The spindle sensor puts out 2 pulses per revolution for a total of 48000.
As far as I know the Acorn can only handle about 1000 (I could be wrong)
If I start the spindle, I can read the speed go up to App. 3700 RPM and then it drops to 0. A=0
I am using “INPUT2” and if the spindle stops on the two sensing spots the input will show the wrong status.
Imagine returning a tool to the carousel at about 20k RPM.
The only input I can think of that can read 48000 pulses is the Encoder Input (I could be wrong)
After reading lots of forum documents maybe this can be a fix.
Please look at this Idea and let me know if it will work, You fix, how did you do this or that I am crazy ETC.

Z is a differential input. I think your diagram is showing /Z tied to ground. This will be unreliable at best. A 26LS31 or equivalent driver is required to drive that input.
I'm not sure what the goal is here. Typically a spindle encoder is required for orient and orient is required for carousel tool changers.

Hello eng199;
I am trying to obtain a good spindle speed =0
a) The spindle RPM sensor ( INPUT2 ) does not reed if spindle speed of 0 . If the spindle stops on any of the two sensing spots the input #2 will not
register correctly. This eliminates that and RPM sensor is not reliable.
b) Memory state #4119 has the incorrect info and it will not tell the plc the correct spindle speed the spindle enters the carousel still rotating
c) The only way so far for me to assume that the spindle is at 0 RPM is adding a time delay of a minimum of 8 seconds which is needed during a job
tool change and not on a tool change where the spindle is not rotating.
d) I have looked for a way for the VFD to communicate speed = 0 but so far no luck.
Any suggestions???

What inverter are you using to drive this?
Is it the TB Wood's device on the AXYZ router? If so, I would look at the linked page in the manual. I'm guessing that the relay output is used for the fault output so you would use the ST1 terminal and set the corresponding parameter to either 3 or 6. You may have to set whether the corresponding Acorn input is looking at NO or NC in the Wizard.

Hello centroid467;
I am using a FULING DZB 312

According to this manual (
https://www.cncwiki.org/images/f/f9/Ful ... df#page=12) you should use the MO1 terminal to the Acorn input and the MCM terminal to the 24V power supply common ground.
Set VFD parameter F2.19 to 6 for "zero speed operation".

Great centroid467, should that input still be (INPUT2 RPM Sensor) ?

No, I would set it to "VFDZeroSpeed". You may need to click the input number to set it to NO or NC depending on what the VFD outputs.

Thank You centroid467
I will do so and let you know the outcome.

Centroid467;
The output M01 is not on this VFD
There is M02 and MCM.
Since the two schematics are different what shoud be the wiring for it
