AJAX was the DIY arm of Centroid. It has been dissolved and has become Centroid DIY.

Thru the 80's most of Centroid's customers were small shops, start-ups and DIY CNC customers and Centroid sold its CNC control products directly to these endusers. Then in the early 90's as Centroid entered more into the manufacturing CNC market, Centroid developed a world wide Dealer/Installer network to provide full service CNC control installation and training and sold its products through those dealers who provided value added support and service. In the early 2000's Centroid started selling its CNC control boards directly to endusers who wanted to build their own CNC control system without a Centroid Dealers assistance under the name AjaxCNC. The purpose of the name was to differentiate Centroid installations between Centroid Factory Trained Professional Installed CNC systems and DIY installed systems. As the popularity of DIY CNC has grown, this year (2017) Centroid decided to change the name of the DIY CNC sales from "AjaxCNC" to "Centroid DIY" and discontinue the ajaxcnc.com website which was replaced by the new Centroid DIY section of the CentroidCNC.com webpage found here.
