I was wondering if anybody had experience of the above Inverter and connection to the Acorn. At present I was going to wire as before with 0-10 to 2 and 0-10 Com to 5 and DCM com to PC Spin fwrd to STF Spin Reverse to STR. This worked for mach 3 but the schematic for the HuaYang shows a connection for 24dec com to FA and a Drive OK to FB. My problem is I don't know how to see which pins are correct for these two on the D700. Sorry I have not put a link to the manual for the D700.
Or is my best hope to bite the bullet and get a Huanyang perhaps Marty can give me his thoughts it is for a 626 mill. 1.5kw 7 Amp at present it was matched to the motor

Looking at the wiring diagram on page 14, everything looks pretty typical.

I think its more about programming the unit.

Yes Marty that's the one thanks and then parameters are the same as before it's just that I checked the Huanyang schematic and the generic one and they both show a link between the +24DC and the input by Input 8 which goes to FA and input 5 to Drive OK to FB so I wonder if I need these with the D700.
Also I wonder what parameters I need to change.

Relay output C to common, B to assigned spindle fault input, that assumes when the drive is in normal operation the the contacts remain closed and open when there is a fault. If not then C to common and then try A

Dip switch to V for voltage sensing

I would think you would tie SD to Acorn common and then STF for forward, tie to assigned Acorn output, and STR for reverse, tie to assigned Acorn output.
I don't see a reset input.

I suggest you call Mitsubishi, their techs are pretty good. 1-800-950-7781
Tell them you need to configure the drive to accept a 0-10VDC analog input. Ground input for FWD, Ground input for Reverse, you need a Ground input for RESET and you need to program for Fault output.

Otherwise you have to do like the rest of us and read the manual and try. I would try calling Mitsubishi first to see if they can point you in the right direction.

Thank Marty I'll certainly try with Mitsubishi but I'm thinking that I could struggle and end up buying the Huanyang any way as I have come too far to go backwards. I believe You have had success with one so it may be my best option is yours wired as the schematic?

I don't know if I would say success. Yes, it works ok. But if I had the Mitsubishi, I would make every effort to make it work first. Far superior to the Huan Yang.

The ONLY reason I tried the Huan Yang is that I had a 5hp motor to control. Single phase 5hp inverters are not typical. Also the first HY inverter I got had NO circuitry for external braking resistor. So they had one "made" and shipped, my decel times went from 9 seconds to 6 seconds before the inverter trips. Its also not a true vector inverter. It was "CHEAP" (read you get what you pay for). A lot of folks are using the and getting good service life out of them for home hobby use. I'd like to know how they are holding up in a more demanding environment, running hours at a time.

Me, I would make every effort to make the Mitusbishi work first. What do you have to lose?

Let us know how you make out Bob. Really, I would try and use the Mitsubishi, it should only be a matter of programming it.
