Limit Switch Defeat button does nothing

Hello,
There is a button called "Limit switch defeat" on the standard skin.
My limit switches are also my home switches and are set up as inputs FirstAxisHomeOK etc.etc.
I needed to, just one time, jog past the limit switch to find the new location for the "finger" that triggers my optical limit switch.
When I press Limit switch defeat, nothing happens. This is on a fresh restart of CNC12 v5.21 rev3 after homing the axis.

I was not able to find on the forums or in the manual anything for this, other than on page 25: "Limit Switch Defeat Overrides the limit switches when active.".

How come pressing it does not activate it?
Thank you,
Chris

hi.

Limit override is so you can jog off a limit switch. you don't have any limit switches defined as inputs so the limit override button isn't going to do anything.

from the report

- FirstAxisHomeOk IS INP1
;- SecondAxisHomeOk IS INP2
;- ThirdAxisHomeOk IS INP3

also, i noticed in the report (thanks for posting) the acorn_mill_plc.src file is corrupted not sure why or how.

All,
Thank you for the replies. This was kind of dumb of me, but if anyone is in the same situation, the fix is just to jog before you have homed. Then you can jog anywhere.

Regards,
Chris

The other fix would be to set up your switches as home/limits and it would work. If they were set up that way you would get a message when you tried to home the machine if a limit was tripped. Then you could jog off of it.
