Re: Build Thread Mach3 to Acorn
I would make a new report, open the wizard and press ctrl + p to export the Wizard pages, and then find my cncm folder under the C: drive and rename it to "cncm_mill".
This way, there is a report for backup of the mill installation and you can switch back and forth between the two installations just by changing the names of the directories.
This will force CNC12 to make a new install and not carry over settings or macro changes but you can get the basic configuration done by copying your settings from the exported Wizard .pdf.

Re: Build Thread Mach3 to Acorn
I am sure there is more to Centroid than what I have already experienced but WOW so far this is incredable.
I did a little cleanup, mounted my 2 power supplies and installed the Router
Being able to copy all the wizard pages is just the cats meow - May seem like a small thing to some but what a time saver.

OK, I know I did something dumb.
I hooked up my X axis with a new DB15 and a bunch of stuff cleaned up.
With the pendant to control the X axis Moves opposite direction Turn dial on pendant "X+" and the axis moves "X-"

Re: Build Thread Mach3 to Acorn
Probably switched the polarity of the direction signal by mistake. It happens to all of us at some point hahaha. I'd check that wiring first.

Re: Build Thread Mach3 to Acorn
The wiring was OK. I switched the polarity but that did not work. I found the direction reversal in Axis configuration. That worked.
Next up is the Homing switches.

Re: Build Thread Mach3 to Acorn
In the install manual about pg56 for proximity switches it mentions wiring the switches in series into one input.
There are 3 wires on each switch. Brown, Blue, Black
How do I wire the three in series
Blue ties into the ESTOP - I am assuming they all connect together.
Brown is 24v Black is COM
I am thinking
(Switch 1 - 24v to brown then black) to (Switch 2 brown then black) to (Switch 3 brown then Black) to input #1

Re: Build Thread Mach3 to Acorn
Brown is positive 24 volts, blue is negative or common and black is your output. None of these wires are wired to the estop.

Re: Build Thread Mach3 to Acorn
I have the proximity switches hooked up. Not in series. Each one is independant 24v to brown blue to com and black to inputs 1-2-3 for X-Y-Z axis.
The red lights on the switches are working correctly
I see no activity in cnc12 when I activate the prox switch. The red light on the prox switch goes out when I activate the switch.
ALT i does not show any change when I activate any of the switches.

Re: Build Thread Mach3 to Acorn
Did you follow the Centroid diagram S14945? Did you forget to include the 24v to either H4 or H1?

Re: Build Thread Mach3 to Acorn
yes, I did forget
I need to recheck what I have and correct it.
I have the 24v from the power supply to the main Acorn H9, but not from H9 to H4
