But aside from the VFD (and I haven't even started thinking about the laser yet) I have the limits, homes and servos working great! I put the LJ12A3-4-Z/AX and #3D printed holders and trigger holders (I'll get pics) and the soft limits set up and I'm very happy!

I still sometimes have to completely shut everything off and reboot after updating and saving new settings because things won't work after CNC12 restarts and the servos won't enable but I am excited!

Changes to the Acorn Six wizard settings requires a reboot of the software along with a power cycle of the Acorn Six, that's normal.

So is your enable signal to the Clearpath. The motors won't enable after a power up until you command movement from Acorn. Be it homing, jogging or by pressing F3 to go into MDI.

This is after the power cycle of the board and the software self-restarts. It's like something doesn't quite reboot fully so it has to be done again.

Are you waiting long enough for the led bars to scroll on the Acorn Six? Post a current report so we can look at your error log. I can't see anywhere in this topic where you've posted a current report.

Yep. I'll do that next time. It's happened a few times tonight. I wait until my VFD powers completely off before turning back on then I wait until it starts the scrolling LED before hitting OK on CNC12.

Just make sure you remember you did that and bring the E-stop back in when you figure out the issues :P
WOO HOO it is running in forward! It won't run in reverse yet. I've triple checked the VFD programming and everything is correct there.

Post a current report please. You also don't have to wait for the VFD to power off.

I think I've attached the report. Once thing I noticed is when I run the spindle in forward only the #4 LED turns green but when I attempt to run in reverse both #4 & #5 light up.

I've swapped the S1 & S2 connections just to make sure the VFD was programmed for reverse still and it works.

Anytime you have a question it's helpful to upload a CURRENT report just in case you've made any changes sine your last upload of the old report.

The relay led outputs are correct as one ENABLES it and the other switches direction.

Thank you again for all your help. I've been working a ton covering for a guy that's on leave so it hasn't left me a lot of free time to get this working. For now I am going to move on from working on the VFD. The manufacturer said the settings look right and the connections should be right but I still can't get reverse to work. It works in forward and 99.9% of the time that's what I need.

As for the weird behavior when I save the new settings to the board and wait for the LED to start the correct pattern and then CNC12 reboots when I hit ok. It is happening almost every single time that I can't get the servos to enable after and a few weird things. If I save a report right after the reboot will that show anything to help? It's almost like it is restarting the program too fast. If I shut CNC12 down and turn off the board then start again it will be ok but it will say something about a power cycle has happened and to hit E Stop and release it.

I am also setting up my laser. I can't seem to find a good writeup and what settings people are using in the PWM2 menu for the Opt Laser PLH3D-XT8 45W. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Opt has some documentation for the Acorn hardware set up and I've done that with the laser enable connection but I have no clue what settings to enter into the wizard.
