As Keith stated it's up to you to build a square machine. No software or hardware will do that for you or fix a machine that is not square. If you are not doing the auto squaring you only need 3 sensors. If you are going to utilize the auto squaring built into Acorn then you need 4 sensors. Again, the auto squaring does not fix a machine that's built out of square. This is all detailed in the "axis pairing and squaring manual" on the Acorn documents page.

I dont understand what you are asking in regards to the touch probe or using the bit to touch off to the probe, please explain. If you are just measuring tool length to determine Z0 for your workpiece you dont need a probe. Just a tool touch off.

I wanted to report back that with all the great help from Shawn, I am now up and running with the basic machine! I am waiting for a few items to come in from cnc4pc to complete the build, the come back to locate the schematics for touch probe and the touch plate Keith recommended!
Thanks also to all else who helped me get this Queen ANT running instead of sitting!

So the 2 items that I was on hold for arrived a photo of both to follow and I highly think but not sure if Keith can help with one of them! The other I did the research on and didn't find much however there is a member working on it now. The first is the touch plate that I bought on recommendation from here and the question on that is should it be wired like other schematics posted here?
the second is a touch probe from cnc4pc I see where others are or trying to hook up to acorn anyone have more on the probe?
Thanks

The advice I gave in the other thread regarding that CNC4PC touch probe is the best I can give without having one to hook up myself. If you pay close attention to the last two paragraphs of the manual attached to your post, you'll notice that it will not be entirely plug and play with Acorn. The explanation is not exactly the best but essentially the switches made by the pins and balls are in parallel with the LED and resistor. When the probe is tripped and one or more of the switches breaks contact, all the current goes through the LED and resistor. They will allow enough current to keep the Acorn input activated therefore no probe trip is observed by the Acorn. Wire as it says in the last paragraph and the Acorn will recognize when it trips even if the LED is no longer showing when the probe is tripped. Use the PLC inspector ( <alt> + <i> shortcut) to see that the probe trip is picked up by Acorn.

The tool touch off should be wired as in the schematics provided that your machine has a grounded spindle and so on. The wire connected to the brass slug goes to the Acorn input. The purpose of the other wire shown is unknown to me.

It is built into the Vcarve software , simply select it from the list in Vcarve. there are two choices one for Centroid inch and the other for Centroid mm.

I have a very basic and somewhat dumb question so please don't hate to bad as I am new to the Acorn world and at my age I don't think I will entirely ever Know all that there is to know in the acorn manual! I have completed the build of my CNC which is just a basic 1500X1500 cnc with closed loop steppers a 2kw spindle, nothing extraordinary. But here in lies my issue and I HAVE SEARCH USING BASIC TERMS AND SEARCHED FOR VIDEOS! At this point I would like to create a Gcode file for surfacing the waist board and a simple test to cut out some circles to check for accuracy!
But here is my Dumb Arse problem! I can create the file import the Gcode but beyond that I'm lost at this point! Please no hate just help and attached is the recent report.

watch the operator training video from 20 years ago to get a handle on the basic like creating, loading a g code program and setting tools and zero locations.
