well I have a new problem. I decided that the control box I had was a little on the small side so I got a new box and rewired it. Now when I turn the unit on the board is flashing and no heart beat.

when I disconnect my db 25 breakout board I still get the flashing and no heart beat. the 2 blue lights on the Beagle board flash on and off but all the switch lights do to

Nothing else but the Acorn is connected to the Acorn's power supply? If it is the supplied MeanWell, then the green LED will likely blink if short circuit protection is activated.

When you say green LED do you mean the one on the board by the mounting hole and the end of the output LEDs

I was referring to the status LED on the MeanWell power supply itself. It should turn on momentarily when it tries to restart from short circuit protect mode then turn back off if the condition persists.
