So if I put them back they should hold unless the auto-square macro is interrupted?

This isn't so bad. I can just re-enter them if it happens. Not ideal, but not so bad.

that is correct. usually once you get by the setup phase of commissioning the machine, this never happens.
but just in case, make a report.zip file (when the machine is running perfectly) then if anything gets messed up , all you do is use "restore report" to put everything back the way it was..

Once you get the auto squaring dialed in it wont happen anymore. I've seen some try and get the master and slave home switch distance too close and have issues with homing but once it's dialed in you shouldn't have to mess with it again.

Great! I will do that this weekend hopefully!

I spent a long time making little dots on my spoilboards and checking square. I finally got it to where by eye at least it is dead on. (Using a meter long ruler marked in half millimeters.)

I'll double check square, set the soft limits and made a "backup" report.zip.
