Re: Acorn not controlling DMM Servo
Yes, I have tried everything. That's why there is a another cable attached to Y axis. Same thing Y+ works but Y- doesn't. The DRO shows movement but the servo doesn't move. The drive in this picture is a different one from the one I started with. Also tried new DB25 cable. The only good thing is I know the Wizard pretty darn good.

Re: Acorn not controlling DMM Servo
I'm thinking the same thing. Sending Centroid the info from this thread and a report. Thanks for your help.

Re: Acorn not controlling DMM Servo
if the DRO is moving then the Acorn is outputting steps. something in the DMM software setup is stopping you is my guess. post fresh screen shots.

Re: Acorn not controlling DMM Servo
are you using the dmm supplied cable or did you make your own? how about photo of your wiring?
also, looks like you didn't follow my instructions in the earlier post.

Re: Acorn not controlling DMM Servo
I did follow your directions, DMM went in and changed my settings. He used Team Viewer and made the changes. I told him I was advised to use the setting I had. As you can see by this photo I'm using DMM cable. Here is the wiring to Acorn. All I'm doing is bench testing at this point.

Re: Acorn not controlling DMM Servo
then don't use 400khz , cabling and shielding has to be very good to use 400khz. If it works at 200khz then use that setting.marks3465 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 9:27 pm report_3403DE6F5004-0716192282_2019-09-23_20-23-25.zip
Update on bench testing,
I used Kieth's cheat sheet and it all worked. There is a box that can be checked in DMM software that will put the servo enable active low. By doing this you can leave the enable box checked in advanced settings in Acorn Wizard. You must also power down the DYN4 for any changes to take place. My last and only issue is my servo only turns one direction when I change to 400khz. If I stay at 200khz it works great. I hardly have anything connected to Acorn so I can't see how I have noise grounding issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
what kind of machine are you going to install this on?

Re: Acorn not controlling DMM Servo
I'm upgrading a CNC Router Parts Pro. I eventually want to add ATC to it. What would be the difference in only using 200khz instead of 400khz.

Re: Acorn not controlling DMM Servo
I have a new DYN4 and Version 4 acorn. I’ll try to bench test tonight and let you know how it works at 400khz
