I ordered Belden shielded wire. I don't think it's tinned. I am 20 or so miles from the coast.

Right now I am working on the TT and Probe. I have both and I want both to work. I am a bit confused about wiring the two into acorn. The TT is tt-4 and the probe is kp-3

If I wire and test each one individually with input 6 and 7 they both work as expected as individual devices.

My confusion come in when I want both wired in.

Why do you want to set up / digitize parts and set up tool length at the same time?

If you want a permanently installed TTO on a fixed location, use an extra input for it.

I have the TTO movable and plug either the TTO or the probe in the same plug on the machine.

But both must be NO or NC to use them on the same input.

Please keep in mind that this is all brand new to me. I am just learning.

In the centroid manual it talks about input 7 and input 6 for the probe and the tool touch off.

Can I use input 5 and perhaps input 3 for one of the probe devices?

Both of the probes are NO

I'm unsure where you'd store a probe if it was wired up all the time. Best option is to have XLR socket mounted to the Z axis shroud or gantry box and put the XLR plug on both cables for the tool touch off and probe. Then just plug in which ever one you are using. You can even wired up the "probe detect" input so Acorn knows the probe is plugged in and not your movable tool touch off.

I did manage to do it today. I'm learning. Baby steps for now.

I was misunderstanding the probe instructions. I understand about conserving inputs, but for now I have plenty. If I get the point of needing more later on I will rewire, but for now, baby steps.

I set up the two probes on seperated inputs. I didn't know that could be done that way. Works perfectly

I agree with your advice about where to store it when not in use. I wasn't even thinking of that yet.

What is that XLR plug?

Yes, Google is your friend. :D

Those GX12 connectors take FAR TOO LONG to connect and disconnect Uwe, time is money.

Only If you secure them with the threaded ring, for a probe I only plug in and go on

I prefer them because they are small, cheap, the wall mount plugs are with a rubber dust cap and Aircraft Connector sounds cooler than Audio Connector

Lemo connectors, the only way to go! Especially if you are connecting/disconnecting often.
