Hmm, cutting sheet goods at 360+ipm and heading for a clamp etc., I'm not taking the time to look for DTG before I try to stop it!
User looks at the router, sees it's still happily running, user says "Yep, it's got some distance to go yet".

life in the fast lane?
the DTG dro was inadvertently always ON in RTG, fixing that now so that it listens to P143/Wizard selection thanks for the reminder!

Keith, seriously, what is the purpose of DTG?

It is probably used more by metal workers.
It tells you whether the current move is going to end before, or after, the cutter reaches the table surface or vise jaw or hold-down clamp.
It will tell you this, usefully, even in 600 in/min rapid moves, because you can slow down and pause those moves using the override and feed hold controls.

Yup. It's a final sanity check before cutting begins. As the tool approaches the part, I hit feed hold, and check the following: is the cutter positioned in X and Y where I think it should be? How far above the stock is the cutter? Looks like a half inch or so, DTG showed .476" on Z.
Great, everything is where it should be. Press Cycle Start and let her rip.
This process won't magically fix a bad program, but it will tell me if I've made a mistake in locating my WCS. My most common mistake is to have my part rotated in XY 90° on the machine relative to my CAM setup.
Second most common, is that for one-off parts, I rarely set up tools and instead create tool paths for a single tool. Unfortunately, I swap between Imperial and metric all the time. I use a 0.5000 gage pin to set my Z height and sometimes I set my part Z to 12.7 instead of 0.5 or vice versa. Distance To Go checks find these mistakes before they become problems.

Besides using CNC for hobby, I use CNC for mass production on multiaxis machines and do cycle optimizing for large series, by handcoding (its faster than CAM). So I optimize all travel to be as short as possible, most time it is only 0.5mm between fast and crash. DTG is one of the best tools for this kind of optimizing production time and useful for Hobby machining also, especially if you have no CAM with a complete machine simulation and crash detection.

This is looking slick! This has probably been asked about before but would it be possible to have a smaller Graph view that shows the G-code at the same time?

we are heading in that direction with tool to do such things.

With Rev4, I've noticed that there's no axis motion using the MPG jog wheel, no switching between x1 x10 x100, and the MPG VCP on/off button doesn't function. All other button functions seem to work correctly.
This all worked as normal in Rev3.

thanks!! we are investigating now.
