Ok, went out and changed all the spindle related entries to zero, no difference.

But, set the Drive OK input to Unused and the 9031 is gone. I can jog further now on all axis.

Thanks Dan for everything, your Sir are a star!!

Cheers

Glad you have movement now buddy. At least you could benefit from my mistakes lol. Also remember that you can't run the y motors with software pairing until you install the pro license. Guys have done it before and the motors will unpair and then they think something is wrong with the system. Save yourself the headache and take a minute and install the license.

Also remember to post some info on your VFD so you can get it up and running, it's going to be something simple once you figure it out. It might be as simple as changing the drive OK signal to NO, or a simple change in how it's wired to the outputs. You'll get it and you're going to love the system, it works super good and there's a lot of guys on here that will help you out.

Good reminder re the licence.... just applied that and everything is still OK.

My VFD is an Hitachi x200. I ran this via Modbus on my previous installs so have been looking up how to go to PWM instead. I maybe have worked that out :)

Well I am just having the best time moving to Acorn...... we had a major powercut, some idiot decided to run into a power pole.

When it came back on my Acorn board is dead, no lights or life anywhere. Powersupply and everything else is still operative, just Mr Acorn is not waking up. Now I have tried to "unbrick" the Beagelbone, got 4 LED's as per the doc. Plugged it back in to the Acorn board but still nothing. Have ordered a new Beaglebone just incase it died for some reason otherwise I am down an Acorn Board. If I buy a new one I will get another licence that I don't need plus everything I have done will be for nought...... any suggestions anyone? :(

Unplug the Acorn power supply from Acorn. Plug it into AC and with a meter, verify the 24vdc output.
Then:
Unplug all the connectors from Acorn except the power plug no ethernet cable either. Power up the Acorn power supply, do the LEDs power up on Beagle bone? Does the heartbeat led flash at one flash per second?

I wish folks would be so quick to debrick until they have disconnected everything except the power supply and tested Acorn that way.

Hi Marty

All that was done PRIOR to trying the debrick method. The Acorn board is dead as a doornail, not lights, no network, no heart beat, totally devoid of any visible operating. The power supply is outputting 24V & 5V as it should, there is 24V at the connector on the Acorn but, as said, no life from Acorn whatsoever......

Cheers

When you de-bricked Beagle Bone and before you put it back on Acorn, did it by chance have it's heart beat led? Using the 5vdc power supply connected to it?

Centroid does have a discount for catastrophic failure.

Hi Marty

From what I remember is the 4 LED's only, I did not see the heartbeat led. I will try again tonight to see what happens.

I was going to send support an email to find out my options, I guess after I retest the Beaglebone I will do that.

Cheers

Just had notification from DHL that my new Beaglebone Green will be with me by Wednesday. I'll be able to determine if it is the BBG that has died or the whole Acorn is toast. The suspense will kill me in the meantime :)

I have emailed support asking if the Beaglebone dying would stop all life on the Acorn. Hopefully I'll get an answer .....

Cheers
