when in MM now the wizard wants degrees per turn. how many degrees does the rotary axis move then the axis motor is turned one revolution?

i know this will toss a curve ball to anyone upgrading as now they will have to a bit of math to convert their old number

Definitely throw me for a curve ball. I just setup by B axis rotary to turn perfect on previous version. Updated yesterday and was scratching my head. Now I have to do some configuring because my Max Rate only accepts 83 vs my 18000 mm/min as previous.

Max Diff in scale setup is not saved to #P571.... Had to setup in the Parameter directly to make it work.

Uwe
max diff is only set by parameter the menu currently doesn't allow you to change by design.

will add to the Wizard and CNC12 scale menu (allow edit) in next major release.
In the last beta version I could change it in the Jog menu, like the other values.

yeah, sorry it had to be done! previously the rotary units were different from inches (rev/deg) to metric (deg/rev). so the change is to make the rotary overall turns ratio units the same for both inches and mm as it has nothing to do with inches or metric. so short term confusion for users that are trying to install a new version of CNC12 with old version overall turns ratio numbers to get to long term one unit for all going forward.

Uwe,

Those cells were previously for display only and made to reflect the values stored in P571-578. They have since been updated to be modifiable. Apologies for any confusion.

In summary, the max diff values in the Scale Settings menu are modifiable and should update P571-578 with whatever value was set in the Scale Settings menu, and vice versa. I restored your report, but was unable to reproduce the behavior you described. When I changed the values from the Scale Settings menu, P571-578 were updated as expected. Could you tell me a bit more about the issues you're experiencing?

Thank you,
Michael

v5.30 has been released.

a.) Fixed a Wizard bug introduced into the Wizard Axis menu Overall Turns ratio max rate calculation warning for Rotary axis

b.) Fixed G540 “Legacy mode” support for Acorn. G540 Legacy mode = running Acorn inputs and outputs through the G540.

c.) Fixed Smoothing Function key typo for the F key label introduced in v5.28 when updating the text in CNC12 for clarity.

5.40.1

5. = main version

.40 = new features for a main version, think of it as a new chapter of the main version.

.1 = bug fixes for a chapter with no new features added

I have to say Keith that you are doing a really bad job on all these updates and bug fixes being handled so quickly. Not good man. Because you do this and only your company does this I live a very frustrated life with all the other software that I use. They just don't do it in any way near to what you do. So I am frustrated with 50 other companies because I know it can be done but they just don't do it. Piss's me off. Before you I just accepted it as that is how it must be but now I know different so I am frustrated.
