The "h" at the end of a parameter value indicates that it is in hexadecimal. You do not need to enter the h. Another way you may see hexadecimal numbers written is "0xA1B2" where the "0x" is not part of the value.
Those tables that I posted last week were written with the "h" instead of "0x" because the darn word processor decided on its own to treat them as a formula that evaluated to zero, getting rid of the correct values.
It is relatively easy to set the parameters from the drive front panel. I would still try to do the tuning through the software. What do you think is causing the communication problems?
If you have batteries in the encoder cables and want to use the multiturn absolute functionality, then you will need to set the absolute origin position. You can do that by following this procedure:
1. Set P2.069 to 0x0001 to enable multiturn absolute encoder
2. Power cycle the drive
3. Set P2.008 to 271 to unlock P2.071 for editing
4. Set P2.071 to 0x0001 to set the absolute encoder origin position

Re: Delta asda B3
I switched to one step back on software version which cured communication problems. I only have one drive offset out in my output definitions, can i wire all my axis drives to that relay? or should I be using one relay per axis and picking a different output option?

can i wire all the drive resets to one output relay? if not what do i use to label or assign other relays in output definitions

Re: Delta asda B3
I would use a single output relay for the drive fault reset. I believe that is our standard configuration for these things on all current 3rd party drive systems except Oak based controls.

Re: Delta asda B3
the drive resets and can be operated from the delta soft on the laptop. I have an alarm 060 that wont clear but dont need to use that function. The minute i jog the axis or give a park command from the machine control the servo shuts off. i'm overlooking a setting somewhere any hints would help

I'm having a problem with an error in XML document (2,2) ill submit the last report. should I back up to a previous report from before this problem?

Re: Delta asda B3
AL060 means that the absolute position was lost. This in turn implies that the batteries are not functioning correctly.
Are the encoder batteries connected correctly? Voltage good?
This is a long shot but do your battery boxes have a serial number beginning with MDBT0100T2419?
I don't believe that warning alarm would cause the drive to shut off but it may inhibit motion based on the setting of drive parameter P2.069.
To resolve the alarm, try the absolute origin setting procedure as described in a previous post in this thread OR set the rightmost digit of P2.069 = 0.
To stop AL060 from inhibiting motion, set the second rightmost digit of P2.069 = 1.
In short, to use absolute mode and allow motion when AL060 is active, set P2.069 = 0011
To disable absolute mode, set P2.069 = 0000

Re: Delta asda B3
I've tried the procedure above but can't get the 2.071 setting to save.sometimes get an error mesage about being protected even after setting 2.008 to 271.

Re: Delta asda B3
did i download the report to the wrong place? I guess I'll reach out to Delta for my parameter problems. beginning to think the other 3 machines might need a different vendor
