RaindeerGames wrote: โ†‘Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:10 am Ok so all 3 axis is now connected and working. did some MDI code and they all move as they should still without any ENABLE wires connected.

Im going to move the controller into position now.
Most all stepper drives are "enabled" by default so the connection is not needed. If you wire it up you are actually disabling the drive and that's why it didn't work at first.
So what Your saying is the ENA will just stay disconnected?

Second issue.... I can't find the pinout drawing for changing the DB9 for the linear scales. I have it enabled and setup to be displaced as DRO but it gives me an error. UWE says the pinout needs to change and is the manual but i just can find it.

Is the pinout for the linear scale supposed to be the same as the pinout for the encoders? That is the only schematic i can find for DB9 pinout.

Here is pictures of the scale setup.

Thank you so much.

I changed the pinout on the x axis now and did the setup in wizard. It seems to be working correctly.

I've now moved the control cabinet into position and I'm starting work on the machine itself to get everything connected.

Thanks for reporting back.

Was there no installation manual with the Ditron scales ?

If not, make sure they are less than 0.1 mm in both directions out of parallel to the axis over the complete travel.

Gap for the reading head must be 1.2mm

That is a sturdy clamp for the spindle.
