Good day all.
Does anyone have a good recommendation on a servo choice for 3axis on a AcornSix.
From what I understand it has to be a servo that uses step/ direction.
I've been told that ethercat or RS protocol will not work. Is this true.
Any suggestions on a servo would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.

Attached is a manual for servo drive that I can get motor and drives for a very reasonable price. Can anyone tell me if these will function on the acornSix

Hello Reinier,
Yes, it is true that AcornSix cannot use EtherCAT or RS485 fieldbus. You will need servos that can use step/direction inputs.
Those motors and drives will work on an AcornSix but we do not recommend them. If the budget allows, I would suggest going to Teknic ClearPath or Leadshine servos. Otherwise, forum users have had good results using JMC servos.
What kind of machine is this?

These are dirt cheap low end servos with a bad manual. They might work as axis drives ok or not.RaindeerGames wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 3:20 am Attached is a manual for servo drive that I can get motor and drives for a very reasonable price. Can anyone tell me if these will function on the acornSix
I use JMC Servos, or Lichuan, both with an ok translated English manual and English-speaking factory support.
JMC servos are with a more detailed manual, tuning software and more tuning options than Lichuan.
Stepperonline T6 series is also looking ok, there are rumors that they are made from Leadshine, Leadshine tuning software works also with them.
