Trouble creating Air Blast Macro
Ok so I have been struggling with setting Output 8 (my airblast output) to m08 or any other m code doesn't reallzy matter. I just want to be able to turn it on and off manually when I need it and I cant seem to figure it out. Only way I can seem to turn it on is if I alt-I and double click the output but I dont want to have to do that if possible.
Thanks,
Greg
Thanks,
Greg

Re: Trouble creating Air Blast Macro
If you are not using M8 for Flood coolant, and you want ready-to-use PLC support, macros, and VCP buttons, then just call your air-blast output "Flood" and go back to using the factory-supplied files.

Re: Trouble creating Air Blast Macro
You don't have to use m8 macro for the #8 output. You can use m30, or any unused macro. You also don't have to have it assigned in the output. If it is just listed as output8 on the outputs them m68 turns it on and m88 turns it off if I remember correctly.

Re: Trouble creating Air Blast Macro
great, see the VCP users manual which has examples on changing button functions and easy hijacking of existing buttons and functions and download the macro programming manual.

Re: Trouble creating Air Blast Macro
Ok thanks, I will check it out right now. I took a screen shot of an existing error that has to do with it and for some reason the probe? Heres the screenshot. Anyone get anything similar?

Re: Trouble creating Air Blast Macro
That has nothing to do with the M8.
It was the result of the M3 (spindle start) command on the previous line, combined with your probe detect input.
The control thinks you have a touch probe plugged in, so it would be a bad idea to let the spindle start.

Re: Trouble creating Air Blast Macro
Do you think it's the way I have the probe wired? Or is there a setting that I can change? I don't have my probe plugged in so I'm not sure why it would say this.

Re: Trouble creating Air Blast Macro
You will have to look at what value you have in Machine Parameter 18.
