That is "bb", meaning base-blocked. It is the normal display when there are no faults, but the drive has not yet been given an enable signal.

Did you remember to wire 24VDC to H2 on the Oak unit?

I did wire H2 with 24 vac but I have not metered it to be sure it is working. Thinking about it I could not get the spindle to turn and I checked it and had no volt at varies speed calls. Figured it was because we were not complete. That said the bench test worked well? I will check it out this morning. Thank you!

If you have an axis drive fault which does not clear when you press and release emergency stop, and none of the drives are showing an alarm, then there is some sort of configuration or connection error.

Can you post a picture of the complete CNC12 screen, with the Alt-i display up, just after you have pressed and released emergency stop?

Can you post a current Report?

After getting cncsnw reply I checked the 24 vdc power to board and all was good. In parallel I had read that the yaskawa drives should have a 5 second delay between logic power and then drive power to allow alarm to clear. So we powered up with estop engaged. Then after 5 seconds reset. Miraculously we had control from the centroid. No idea if that is why but the machine is in control. The drives move at the spindle turns!

Need to get drive ratios dialed in. The centroid jogs 2” but the machine actually moves 6” not sure where to make this adjustment, the drive software or centroid. Our x, y pulleys are 36 tooth on servo and 60 on pulley. The ball screws are 12 mm pitch ( need to verify that again) .

Really excited that everything works as we bought machine not ever seeing it run. Both the vacuum pump and spindle work so we are happy! Now we need to get it dialed in and cut something. Appreciate any guidance as always.

1 rev/12mm * 25.4 mm/inch * 60/36 = 3.527778 revs/inch.

Thanks cncsnw, we adjusted the turns and got it close. Need to get a dial indicator and finalize it.

Ran our first test part today. I model in rhino so I had a part that needs to be rerun and we tried it on a piece of scrap. My son and I build fiberglass parts which utilize foam cores. We also use melamine to fabricate temporary molds. So this test piece is a scrape melamine sheet and the shape will be cut from a $300 piece of foam core ultimately. I used fusion 360 to tool path it. Went almost flawlessly! First start tripped the x limit. Had my axis reversed. Fixed and reran the tool path. Went perfectly. Had feed rate very low as a caution. We will cut 3 pieces of the foam core tomorrow or Tuesday.

Five weeks from tearing the old out and up and running with centroid oak, yaskawa servos and drives, nuc mini pc. Not completely buttoned up yet. Also have been consulting with cncsnw on tool rack. He has been very helpful thru out the process. I am sure there are many issues/post to come but hurtle one is cleared! One huge miss for me is not printing the operating manual. Didn’t really know it existed until I saw it on cncsnw site. That clears up a lot! The parameters and g codes in there at least serve as a dictionary for some of the operations you do to start up. Great products and experience so far,

Thanks !

There should be a copy of the current operator's manual PDF on your control computer, in the c:\cncm\manual directory. It is part of a CNC12 software installation.
