Virtual keyboard?

Post by ScotY »

Is there a virtual keyboard feature in CNC12? I have my monitor mounted up (finally) to the mill. I have a plan for mounting the PC, but don't have a plan (or much space left) for the keyboard. Would be really nice if one could somehow type data into CNC12 on screen via a pop-up window or something. Feature wish list? :)

Windows 10 has it but not very good. I bought a passive? USB hub and mounted it to the back bottom of the monitor and bought a small wireless keyboard . It works pretty good and you can set it out of the way when not needed.

Thanks, Marty. I have a cheap wireless USB keyboard that works great but I figure once Acorn is set up, there's not much typing involved. Since I'm not very experienced or smart, the idea of using MDI (and then perhaps Intercon later) is appealing for simple operations. Would be nice to be able to just type in a simple command. Ironically, I think you need a keyboard to access the Windows 10 virtual keyboard? And then with CNC12 running, I wonder if you can even do this?

No, Google Search Turning on Windows 10 OSK
It hides with a tiny tab. touch the tab and out it comes. Also, IF my memory serves if you touch in a box that requires typing it pops up.

Thing is sometimes it covers the box you need to enter data into.
