All axis pause when jogging
Hello, I recently finished an all in one DC retrofit to my tree mill. I’ve noticed that when jogging and fast or slow every axis will pause, or hesitate from time to time -it does not seem consistent. Can anybody point me in the right direction as to what may cause this.

A video of what is happening would go a log way to help us understand what is happening.
Please post a fresh report.

Re: All axis pause when jogging
For some reason the website wont allow to add the video. Says it won’t take a .mov from my iPhone. However i will post a vid on my build thread with link to google photo. I have a recent report posted on my thread. From like a week ago and I haven’t done any changes to it. I’ll try and post another one today when I get a chance.
. I posted a question about my servos getting hot a week ago. Which i still need help for. I’m not sure it’s related to this issue. But I will note that when running a program, it doesn’t pause or hesitate when moving at all. Only whenever I manually jogged it.

Re: All axis pause when jogging
So just as a recap. If I jog the any axis with the vcp, it will move, then randomly pause, then continue on. All axis do this. Movement does not pause if a program is running. Video is in my photo album of x axis being jogged and problem presented.
Second issue is my servos are getting too hot. I used the recommended settings from the manual. I ran the auto tune and kept those settings at first. More details are in my build thread the last couple posts.
Thanks

Re: All axis pause when jogging
Please post a fresh report for us.
Also a wider shot video could help.
In the video you poster we're not able to see the machine or the entire screen.
Also, try jogging each axis from the center of the table; in the previous video it looks like you're at/past the limit of travel?

Re: All axis pause when jogging
if they are getting hot they are probably trying to hold position all the time or the Kd needs adjusted.frankljs wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 9:17 pm So just as a recap. are the ways getting proper lube? is there any sticktion/wind up?
what does the power meter look like (or pid out) when just holding position?
did you run the drag plot?

Re: All axis pause when jogging
The report i submitted on the 19 is fresh and I havent used that machine since then. I will submit another anyway and will post another better video from center of travel now.CentroidFrog wrote: ↑Tue Sep 02, 2025 3:03 pm Please post a fresh report for us.

Re: All axis pause when jogging
So the servos get warm even at idle. If i turn on the mill, park it and the let it sit, They just get warm at idle. They dont oscillate or make noise or anything at all. This applies to all axis servos not just one.cnckeith wrote: ↑Tue Sep 02, 2025 4:55 pmif they are getting hot they are probably trying to hold position all the time or the Kd needs adjusted.frankljs wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 9:17 pm So just as a recap. I did reduce the kd by 20%. Took it from 3.0 to 2.4 for testing. I will check tomorrow if it made a difference to the temp. I couldn’t really check tonight because they were already warm and I didn’t have time to let them cool down.
I did run a drug test on all the access. They all appeared to pass. I will post pictures of them.
I posted new video of the pause While jogging., and the axis drag reports, which passed i think.
So I pulled up the vcp for the keyboard control And I use my keyboard to jog the axis and the pause/hesitation did not occur. So maybe it is just my monitor touch screen that is causing an issue.
