Hello, Good People!
I have an old but gold torchmate plasma table that I'm trying to get working with my Acorn. It's signal generator recently died and I need help connecting the acorn to the motor drivers. The attached image was taken from both the torchmate and acorn documentation and I have tried matching the lines that correspond with eachother e.g. Input 1 to Input 1 and Direction Axis 1 to Direction 1 but I've had no success at all and I really need to get this working ASAP. Any help or push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Re: Need Help! Torchmate 501A Signal Generator
I moved this post to the Plasma forum.
I don't know anything about the Torchmate so hopefully someone else could weight in on that.
But with an Acorn the DB25 pin assignments can be changed using the wizard, which may help.
Locate the Mapping section within the wizard and from the drop down select DB25 Port and be sure "Enable DB25 custom pin mapping" is set to On.
When this is On you'll see drop down selections for pins 1-17.

Re: Need Help! Torchmate 501A Signal Generator
You are not going to be able to make the Acorn DB25 perfectly match the Torchmate Signal Generator pinout. In this case, you would be better served by rewiring the cable on the signal generator end.
You should verify what voltage is expected on the Torchmate DB25 pins 23 and 25. If there is 5VDC across those pins then you should wire the INPUT signals to the Acorn DB25 input pins. If there is 24VDC then wire the input signals to the Acorn's H1 and H4 inputs.

Re: Need Help! Torchmate 501A Signal Generator
I got it working! My wiring was correct from the beginning but I missed a crucial step that I found in this video:
which was to enable the inputs by bridging 24V from H9 to to H4. The custom mappings suggestion really made things easier as well.
Thank you!!
