New Acorn install help
Hello,
I'm attempting converting my diy plasma table from an esp32 to plasma controller. Table is a new build, drives are Cloudray dm556, motors are nema23 Amazon 3amp. Previously they worked OK, the controller was the issue. I am definitely not a computer literate person, age thing!!
I thought i had read enough to get an initial setup ie: movement and so far nothing, been a few days of frustration.
Any and all help would be much appreciated.......thanks Doug

Re: New Acorn install help
If your red and black supply to your drivers are red+ and black- then it looks like you may have them backwards.
Include which wiring diagram you are using for reference. Some of those have a 24-5 v switch. Make sure it's in the 5v position.
Once you do get it moving, there is a plasma forum that would be the best place for plasma specific questions.

Re: New Acorn install help
It looks like you have the enable signals connected but the settings are preventing them from working correctly for those drives.
You can verify this by by unplugging the enable signals from the drives and see if the motors turn.
To correct the signals go to the Drive Signal Mapping tab in the Wizard an select DB25.

Hi
Black was the positive in this case!?
(Motors are wired for 48v
Went by drawing number 14975 for leadshine steppers, this looked as the closest to my drives
Thanks for your input….Doug

Re: New Acorn install help
Hi again,
Got only one motor to work, would imagine enabling it, did it?...it didn't for the others though, I can't seem to see what i missed
Only the one drive operating, I'm obviously missing something plus probably not understanding the instructions!
I swapped the motor signal connection from the working drive to the other 3 drives and they all work.
Any input/ideas, where to look etc, would be appreciated......thanks again Doug

I can’t see any wiring differences between X drive and the others
Thanks…Doug

Re: New Acorn install help
X drive is the one that is working?
And you made all of the motors move by plugging them into the X axis drive? Or did the other drives work with the X axis motor?
I do not see any immediate issues in the pictures.
I did notice that Y2 has the wiring going to the motor switched on the A phase. I suspect for direction reversal so that shouldn't be the problem.
