Excellent! Much better than this.... https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic. ... 404#p83404
Glad the Reset thing isn't permanent too! Thanks to all for the great work with CNC12! (must be about time for a new number or name )

Error when resetting the report in the beta, possibly just an unnecessary error message. It works so far.

restore report is not used to 'update' from an older installation of cnc12.
restore report only works within the same version for example
v5.08 to new v5.08 install
if you used a v5.08 report (or any older version report) on any newer version of cnc12 (beta or not) you are dragging along OLD stuff that may or may not be supported and most importantly you are carrying along an old parameters file and old plc program that will be MISSING any settings/logic that supports the new features.
instructions are here for 'updating"

I installed the CNC12 beta yesterday, then created a report and installed it again today. why should this be a report before the update to the beta version?

i don't understand your question.Houseman303 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 3:48 pm I installed the CNC12 beta yesterday, then created a report and installed it again today. why should this be a report before the update to the beta version?
please if you are using beta software do not use restore report. what you are doing is putting old parameters, old plc program logic with a new cncm.exe effectively mixing old with new.
for example, it is common for the new CNC12 beta to have a new PLC template with new PLC logic added to it to support a new feature or fix or update an existing one and you restore the old PLC program, this will mix things up! and your results may vary.
always install fresh copy of CNC12 and use the Wizard to write the parameter and create the PLC program.
then and only then if you want to customize things do you go and edit the PLC program or copy over files (like tool libraries) from old installations of CNC12.
but never reuse an old PLC program by copying it, always create a new one and edit it if you have any custom plc code that you want in the new installation, this way the new edited plc program will have any new logic in it that came from Centroid to support new features.

The wizard is only for Acorn and Acorn6, or have I overlooked something?

Re: CNC12 V5.09 beta REV3 is now available for testing.
The error message you got was because you were trying to restore a report from 5.06 to 5.09 beta which you cannot do. When you got that on screen message you should have pressed F2 and quit. If you pressed F1 and continued it's anyone guess what is now screwed up in the software.
You should do a fresh install of 5.09, which is a beta and in testing so dont put this on a production machine, and hand enter all your old settings from 5.06. Do not restore a report from any other version of CNC12.

His message screen shows an Oak Pro install. In that case, follow the install instructions for an Oak install....

that's correct, thought you were using Acorn/AcornSixHouseman303 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 5:50 pm The wizard is only for Acorn and Acorn6, or have I overlooked something?
for Oak/Allin1DC/Hickory use one of the provided PLC programs with the installer and then go from there.
