Re: Jcoldon plasma table acorn build
Hey Jeff When cutting circles how do you usually end the Circle? I know you usually don't use a lead out right? So do you over cut at the end? When cutting a 2inch Circle at Book speeds with THC on, THC doesn't like to overcut much at the end of the Circle. I'm tryng not to change the Config setting for anti dive and am curious what how you would cut the Circle.
Material .187 Steel
45AMP
Book speeds.

Re: Jcoldon plasma table acorn build
it really depends on the thick ness of the steel i don't use overcut on thin stuff 1/2 in steel small hole i use some over cut
16 gauge i don't need over cut you can use slight lead out to get rid small dink . theirs no setting to turn off torch and keep it moving at the end of a cut
so that make a dink because time to turn off torch like 350 mili sec after x y all stop
i should add i usually don't cut holes with THC on theirs no need.. plus cutting holes 2 inch and over most cases voltage will not give a steady read
just the nature of air plasma This is why i pressed for second speed for holes setting you did that in sheet cam

Re: Jcoldon plasma table acorn build
Thanks Jeff. Did you make the float head switch your using? Or was that bought as a kit?

Re: Jcoldon plasma table acorn build
The float head is from China i simply cut the back off bolted it to a flat plate . i made others i used a robot 3t model made a aul angle mount like the shop Sabor one . but i found it much cheaper easier to just cut China one bolt mount plate . the designee was made buy vector thermal dynamics
the thing is using 2 proximity senc wired in series. it very accurate only moves like .053 of inch to activate and it accurate . were float head with a switch not as accurate i find .

Re: Jcoldon plasma table acorn build
Jeff,
I thought I remembered some pictures of how your machine and cabinet were grounded and connected. Can you throw those pictures and anymore you have in your album? Your experience and how your machine is set up can help a lot of people when there plasma machines up.
