Snubber, flyback resistor, surge unit??

Post by garybergin288 »

from my reqding of other forum posts its recommended that a snubber be used on on AC coils and a resistor be used for DC coils. My contactor im using has a 24VDC coil, the manufacturer sells an accessory called a surge unit(varistor) is this basically the same thing? and will it acheive the desired effect? i have attached the technical doc thanks

Yes, that is the right thing. Looks like it was designed to have the desired effect.
