New pc works but won't at same time <resolved>
So I have a new pc for my mill (Chewi Hero Box) that runs windows 11. It is plenty strong enough to run cnc12 software. My problem with this pc came about suddenly and I cent seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. I was switching the mill pc from the tower PC that was running it to this new mini PC. I have everything configured correctly as far as I know and I even went as far as checking behind the PC tuner app. Everything looks fine. Cnc12 fires up fine, heartbeat on the board looks good pinging the IP address(es). I had everything working correctly except the spindle wouldn't turn on. So I connected acorn to my old PC to see what the old settings were. It said it was installing new firmware after connecting to the old PC. Once it established connection everything worked as it should (axis, estop, relays, vfd). After reconnecting with the herobox PC and configuring it the same as the old PC it started to work as it should and I got to work tweaking the parameters via the wizard. Then the network started having communication issues which I worked out but the estop circuit stopped working and axis won't move nor will the cnc12 DRO. I did notice it said it was installing new firmware when switching between PCs. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: New pc works but won't at same time
easiest way to switch to a new PC is
1.) prep the new PC for CNC use following Tb309
2.) Copy the CNCM or CNCT folder from the old PC to the NEW PC.
Done.

Re: New pc works but won't at same time
i copied the cncm file to the new pc and everything seems to work properly so I applaud you for that easy fix. I did notice that the cnc12 version is 4.5. Is there any notable updates that are necessary between the latest to 4.5?

yes, massive amount of updates since v4.5 and they are free.
read the extensive release notes here in the legacy software section at the bottom of the screen.

if you decide to install the latest version of CNC12 be sure to follow the update guidance very carefully. PDF is on the downloads page.
