Component FB6 near H6 header
My acorn had a little mishap somehow, i've noticed the SMD component FB6, near the H6 header, is blown. The board works perfectly fine, no issues that i can tell. Centroid says $199 to send it in, i dont want to do that since its functioning just fine and prefer to swap the component myself.
Does anyone know the values of this component?

My guess is a ferrite bead.
Cheers,
Tom
Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

That component is damaged if EGND and COM are not the same potential. The ACORN is designed to work with those connections at the same level. The condition that caused the damage should be found and corrected. There is also potential for damage to the BeagleBone from ground mismatches. The overall effect of not having the component is likely minimal. However, the underlying issue of having ground connections out of specification could be more serious.

Re: Component FB6 near H6 header
Looks like this is tied together with your analogue out problems

Thanks eng199, this is a huge help, you really saved my day.eng199 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 7:48 am https://www.digikey.com/en/products/det ... YBMQBdAXyA

Wire came loose inside the cabinet, i think it was a common. Touched the axis drive contactor terminal and i heard a pop. I have the acorn power fused on both hot and common, blew a fuse on the common but also found this bead went as well. Oddly the Acorn works perfectly well but i did measure some strangeness across the ground and common if i remember correctly.
How sure are you this is the correct component? Did you reference a schematic? Just want to be 100% sure before doing repair.

Re: Component FB6 near H6 header
You would think, right? Strangely no. I have 3 acorn boards, all of them show issues with analog and DYN4. The analog issues existed before the blown component and after.
However i am glad to report the analog out issue has been solved with a proper 0-10v signal isolator.

He's the one who designed that boardMeasurement10 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:34 amThanks eng199, this is a huge help, you really saved my day.eng199 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 7:48 am https://www.digikey.com/en/products/det ... YBMQBdAXyA

All Centroid employees have access to the schematics and BOMs so we'd be able to help identify the part regardless.
