11x26 Import Lathe Conversion to Acorn
Posted: Fri May 03, 2019 11:56 am
Hello my name is Steve and I go by jumps4 and jumps42009 on the internet.
a short intro about me: I am a disabled (bad back) auto mechanic but I have worked in many fields
about 8 years ago I had never used a lathe or mill and could not spell CnC.
As of today I have built or converted 7 cnc lathes, mills and plasma/routers to Mach3.
To see my work search "jumps42009" and "jumps4" for pics and videos also search "+Yulee sugar mill jumps42009"
Ok my latest build is a import similar to a Grizzly g0602 except it is 11x26 not 10x26. I have a 9x20 I converted to mach3 that works but It has always been fussy because of mach3 issues.
I am so glad I have found Centroid and the learning curve has been a pleasure because the results have been fantastic. What A Difference.
My new lathe has closed loop steppers and double ball-nut on z axis and encoder installed . vfd controlled spindle and centroid control relay board. Shuttle-express and touch screen monitor. duel station control ( mouse, keyboard and monitor at machine and desk ) automatic tool touch offset measurement .
now I want to build a tool turret and would welcome any input.
If you see something you like and would want drawings or info just ask I'll be glad to help if I can.
I'm new to this forum layout so bear with my mistakes....
