M224 Default Value

Hello all, I'm wanting to use the M224 prompt for input and I'm wondering how or if you can set a default value that would be used when the user just hit Cycle Start instead of always inputting the value for said default. I know that I could use IF THEN, but was wondering if a default can be set wit...

Re: Acorn CNC12 v4.14 has been released.

I used that tutorial to add an external Cycle Start. Worked great!

Re: ShopBot PRS alpha Converted to Acorn

That machine looks awfully familiar, as well does the wall of misfits! I guess it's about time I jump in here and say a "BIG THANK YOU" to Gary for mashing up these videos and for putting together a top notch control box! They're truly a work of art and a pleasure to work with when i...

Re: Vectric Post Processor

I would look at one of the Mach3 wrap X or Y posts (possibly Legacy 4 axis too) and modify to suit. The Shopbot one is not G-code and will take a lot more conversion to get to clean G-code.

Re: Tool Change Ignore switch in M6 (Solved)

Ok, good. You must be using one that had it put in already, because the ones that come pre-installed don't have it.

Re: Tool Change Ignore switch in M6 (Solved)

Ken, you can save a step for those times when you don't need to change the tool and just want to continue by way of your postp. If you add this section to your postp, when saving multiple toolpaths that use the same tool, it will just continue using the previous tool until a toolchange is called for...

Re: Optional Post Processor for VCarve

Yeah, there's a fair amount of possibility for wood movement there and a 0.25" tool will most always leave waterlines. I see some screws at the ends of the jig for holding, but how about putting a few in the waste areas, like the circles. You could try leaving an allowance on the edge and then ...

Re: Optional Post Processor for VCarve

If you air cut those, can you see any deviation or "jump" or does it run smoothly? You're not rubbing the shank of the tool at those support areas? Did you say that it returns to xy zero or is it off when finished? If you are cutting through the supports each time, how about cutting a reli...

Re: Optional Post Processor for VCarve

Opening a dxf or dwg exported from a program like AI or CorelDraw that might have been a circle will generally end up as many segments in VCP/Aspire which will then not generate G2/G3 arcs (maybe depends on the dxf version). The reason I suggested the 6 decimal places change is that with one control...

Re: Optional Post Processor for VCarve

Just for fun, try editing your pp to output 6 decimal places instead of 4. Open the Centroid arc inch pp in an editor and look for the lines as pasted below and change all the "1.4" to "1.6". Save the pp, reopen VCP, recalculate and try it again. + Formating for variables + +====...
