I'm just learning gcode stuff. Not sure how to do a simple test file. Do you have one you use that I could run?

How to determine steps/revolution?
I'm not sure how to determine steps/revolution. The drive info I got from the manufacturer: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180414/fee166b20f71ae1020c2e7fd5e81825c.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180422/81dfb620bdc95653a55247aa1920fa10.jpg How one of the drives is configured: https://uploa...

Re: Converting Chinese CNC Router from XHC Mach3 Motion Controller
Keith, To clairify, my spindle speed is 50% rated nameplate speed/frequency when I press the white 100% button in the manual control section of the control panel. An M3 S18000 gets me 300hz/18,000 rpm. I’m thinking I may not be understanding how the control panel button works. The VFD tracks through...

Re: Converting Chinese CNC Router from XHC Mach3 Motion Controller
I have to say this whole project has been really exciting! I got all three axis calibration to under .0005. I’ll run through the ball screw compensation at some point because I have about .0015 on my Z ball screw. I have the control turning my dust PLC input on/off with M35/M36 so I think I need to ...

Re: Tool Setting Options For Routers and Mills
Of course I did. I’ve used the macro with the moveable probe. What I’m proposing is not covered in the first post of this thread... :/
What I’m wanting to do adds a whole other layer of functionality, especially in programs with multiple tools. I’m just not sure how to get this going.

Re: Tool Setting Options For Routers and Mills
I'm wanting to add some functionality to the tool setting macro. Something like this. Start job Go to G28 Prompt to insert first tool Probe down to moveable touchoff plate that's on top of workpiece. This sets Z0 at top of material. Go to fixed plate position, probe down to fixed plate. Store differ...

Re: Converting Chinese CNC Router from XHC Mach3 Motion Controller
Getting close. All that’s left to wire is axis and spindle drive failure circuit. Went ahead and used interposing relays for the spindle drive outputs so I’m not commingling the dc buses of the control and the VFD. Dust collection output(1) controlling the dust PLC input with M35/M36. Still working ...

Re: Router Z axis orientation question
Thanks Gary! I reversed the motor A lead polarity at the drive output and made appropriate changes in the wizard.

Router Z axis orientation question
I'm working through things on my router conversion. I'm not sure how to orient the Z axis. The machine was goofy when I bought it.. X & Y switched and the home position didn't make sense. In general stuff was backwards. So.. I got X & Y zero at the left corner of the machine when standing in...
