Thanks again for you help Joey. You beat me to replying again before you got on ;) I think it's sorted :D .
What I found,
I had a faulty Float switch. When I jiggled the cable near the switch it faulted so I just replaced it (could have been connection but who cares its replaced) and I've just cut ...

Re: Torch Touch off issue
Thanks Joey,
That's got me on the right path, thank you ;)
I still have the Z ploughing into the table.
What I found so far was my Z pitch was out (fixed) then reset all measurements associated with Z and re-run the torch calibration. Everything when perfect 8-)
I then tried to cut the 4" line ...

Re: Torch Touch off issue
Ok one thing to add,
I've realized I hadn't done the torch calibration yet so while doing this I've realized it doesn't change everything from imperial to metric. I.E when doing the calibration it asks for a 2" test cut but registers as 50.8mm while cutting (perfect) but then says .6" safe height ...

Re: Torch Touch off issue
Hi Joey,
Thanks, surprisingly it's hard work to make sure it looks nice and clean
The breakaway and float switch are seperate. This is the Z unit I used https://step-motion.com/collections/plasma-floating-lifters/products/z-axis-lifter-plasma-cnc-200mm-travel-magnetic-breakaway-floating ...

Torch Touch off issue
Hi Brains trust
I have finally got my box all sorted and table moving about (just waiting for a new Z axis Limit switch)
My issue is the torch touch off. I have a Float switch connected to input 4 and a Prox switch for Breakaway connected to input 5 if I manually move the Z down to actuate the ...

Re: Stepper only turns in positive direction
Thanks Keith, as it was more a generic question to just the Acorn and stepper I didn't think to place it here.
I am curious though, could the plasma side of the boards be interfering this here?

Re: Stepper only turns in positive direction
You may not have done anything wrong. Just check your stepper drive switches and see if one of them changes the motion from single direction to bi-directional. I see a lot of them defaulted to move in a single direction!

Switches haven't changed since the bench test. I did buy a new ...

Re: Stepper only turns in positive direction
Not sure if this helps but the last config change you made was to set the travel limits of X Axis to both -200 and +200 (metric of course). All other axes have + and - set to zero meaning no soft limits. At the very next restart the log shows "WARNING: The unlock for the Scales feature is not ...

Stepper only turns in positive direction
Hi Brains trust,
I am installing the Plasma Acorn controller and have done something I am unaware of :( I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I performed the Acorn bench test as soon as it arrive, everything went smoothly. I then proceeded to bench test a Stepper motor, perfect ...

Re: New Oak Install
Hey CrossFireX, do you have the Fuji Frenic 5000 MS5 VFD?
I may have the cable you need for your MPG also as I replaced all my cables for the servos and drivers but it won't have the fancy coil to it :P
I could only wish mine was under 10K so far I'm pushing 20K including cables and fittings ...
