Re: Control Cabinet Inlet Fan

Thanks for all of the great feedback. I have a clear plan now.

Unrelated question, I am having a difficult time figuring out where to get these fuse holders. I thought it would be simple, but I guess I am not sure what to call them in google or amazon :?

Any links?

Thanks!

Re: Control Cabinet Inlet Fan

These are what I use: https://www.mcmaster.com/19155K23/ In through the filter/fan at the bottom of the enclosure and out through the grill at the opposite corner at the top: https://www.mcmaster.com/1667T55/ I'm sure you can find those cheaper than McMaster it's just their search engine is incredi...

Control Cabinet Inlet Fan

Hello,

What are people using for inlet fans and filters for the control cabinet? I am looking at some 120VAC 120mm fans, but what about filters? Is there any obvious solution I am missing?

Thanks,
Tim

Re: Anilam Eagle Knee Mill - Oakland CA

If you can get an indicator on the machined end of the ballscrew, then you can check for axial play as you jog the axis in alternating directions. If you see a significant change in the average indicator reading jogging plus vs. minus, then the issue is with the support bearings, and not with the b...

Re: Anilam Eagle Knee Mill - Oakland CA

Fortunately Z and X were just under and just over the Centroid recommended maximum of .001. Unfortunately the Y on the other hand was, and still is, .0036 and sub par. I'm 95.23% certain that the ball nut / screw relationship is the problem. I am looking into options and fixes there and might be ab...

Type of Control based on Serial Number

Is it possible to look up what type of centroid control a machine has based on the SN?

Sticker says:
Model = M-10 SN = K-1286

What vintage is this? Can it use the latest sofware?

Re: CNC manual combo machine

For significant amounts of 2-axis CNC control with Z axis DRO (another possible operating mode) you can run the quill all the way down, disengage power to the Z axis servo and loosen a pinch bolt that disconnects the quill from the ballscrew. Provided that you are using a glass scale on the Z axis ...

Re: CNC manual combo machine

Related note, how does a ballscrew cnc machine being run manually behave? Will the axis hold position during high cutting force operations? It works totally fine. The key is the fact that you have a DC servo motor with a 2-3:1 belt reduction always attached to the ball screw. This provides enough r...

Re: CNC manual combo machine

Thanks for the feedback.

I basically want to do what they show in this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVlxLDNv-Tc

They show the machine in manual, 2d and 3d modes.

Thanks,
Tim

Re: CNC manual combo machine

I am trying to figure our the best combination of budget VS what I actually want or more importantly need. For better or worse, I still want to be able to use the machine manually. This basically only requires a 3 axis DRO when in manual mode. I was looking into the Allin1DC features and levels, etc...
