Re: Huanyang GT Series VFDs

Screen shots as attachments or in the body of the post. If in the body of the post, can I do it directly here, or do I have to host them somewhere?

Re: Huanyang GT Series VFDs

Those voltages look fine. The Acorn does not have trim adjustments like the ALLin1DC or OAK. The ALLin1DC and OAKs get calibrated at the factory and would be dead on. You can dial it in by adjusting the the max spindle speed a bit. Try setting it down a little to say 986 rpm. Now M3 S986 should sho...

Re: Huanyang GT Series VFDs

Yes. Since this thread has morphed into trouble shooting my setup, I've attached a current report.

Re: Huanyang GT Series VFDs

Acorn powered up but not connected to anything, 24.4 VDC at the power header (H9), essentially the same results:

M3 S100 - .99VDC
M3 S400 – 3.95 VDC
M3 S700 - 6.91 VDC
M3 S1000 – 9.87 VDC

Re: Huanyang GT Series VFDs

Just tried the analog voltages again with my other multi-meter - same results.

Re: Huanyang GT Series VFDs

My digital multi-meter is pretty accurate, and measured analog voltages much more nearly as you'd expect when I first did the bench test. Could I have damaged something? I don't think what I did could have damaged the Acorn, but who knows? I already tried the deprogramming S1 and programming S4 for ...

Re: Huanyang GT Series VFDs

Analog output voltages are a bit low, but you can tell me if they're okay: M3 S100 - .99VDC M3 S400 – 3.95 VDC M3 S700 - 6.90 VDC M3 S1000 – 9.86 VDC The VFD reacts to voltage on the AI2/GND terminals, and will actually move the spindle using the REV terminal. No movement at all using the FWD termin...

Re: Huanyang GT Series VFDs

Well bad may have gone to worse. I took another look at the Huanyang manual, and they seemed to describe providing the on-board 24VDC to the PW terminal on the VFD which in turn seems to supply the 24VDC to the S1-3 terminals. I hooked that up, spindle still didn't run, and now don't get any output ...

Re: Huanyang GT Series VFDs

Well, no love from the VFD/spindle, but I don't think it's the programming of the VFD. The VFD shows that the terminals are controlling the VFD (Loc/Rem is flashing), it responds to the forward and reverse signals (indicator light out for forward and lit for reverse), displays the commanded spindle ...
