Re: Australian Mechmate transforms to Acorn
I have a question, As above I recalculated the steps on my machine, now it will cut a perfect 1090mm as it should be yet it will not cut a 16mm pocket without it being set to 17.25. What could cause this? I am sort of lost as to why. I have 30 tooth pinions on Nema 34 motors with metric racks. Any s...

Re: Australian Mechmate transforms to Acorn
Interesting fact :) Was getting the incorrect sizes for panels I was cutting so did some recalcuations on the axis steps. What I found strange was the X axis is different than the Y yet all axis have the same motors and belt reductions. Wasn't much difference but enough to be 1 mm out on the X. Funn...

Gary, images of the machine as it sits and where XY zero is: 20200608_232701.jpg 20200608_232843.jpg Tom Your explanation of the graphic did wonders, I had to set the "corner" to the image below: 20200608_235538.jpg Apologies for the previous rant, I have been frustrated all day with this ...

Re: Corner Probing - What am I doing wrong?
Hi Gary
My machine is sitting exactly like your first image even down to where XY zero is. This is why I do not understand what is going on with probing.
Cheers

Re: Corner Probing - What am I doing wrong?
Using F1 puts the corner in the wrong place, I have tried every variation of F1 all day as well as F2 position. I never said Acorn was Mach3 or LinuxCNC, I said those 2 pieces of software worked in probing corners whereas, with a router , Acorn does not. Maybe I should not be using Acorn with a Rout...

Re: Corner Probing - What am I doing wrong?
Thanks Tom I have tried every variation known to man on this one without luck. Looking at image 2 above the long axis is X and the short axis is Y, has been like that through Mach 3 & LinuxCNC for around 5 years before I went with Centroid. Probing screens worked in both Mach 3 and LinuxCNC/Path...

Re: Corner Probing - What am I doing wrong?
I attempted to CSR testing and found the following If I selected the long axis above movement was in the X axis direction according to the the CSR screen. So I placed the probe in the short axis (being my original X axis) The CSR action then worked correctly as the probe travelled in the X axis and ...

Corner Probing - What am I doing wrong? (RESOLVED)
Hi all Testing the outside corner probing and things aren't going well at all. What am I doing wrong? Images and video of what is happening> 20200608_130832.jpg Select outside corner, F1 for corner type, F2 for probe start 20200608_130821.jpg As indicated on Acorn I imagined it would probe in X, mov...

Re: Z not setting to zero
Well I feel silly now, forgot what the licence was named. Been while since I used Acorn and am just getting back into it. Will install 4.49 again today and try things with it. Thanks swissi & Marty, you saved me ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Re: Z not setting to zero
I tried 4.49 but I can't find my licence file so it remains on Acorn Free, useless to me as I have 2 motors on X and need pairing plus my MPG wasn't able to be used either.
